mmmMMMmmm : nothing really
4 days without sleeping before 1am. thursday we were at the workshop making sure everything was immaculate. friday we were at the show setting up for the big weekend ahead. saturday and sunday started at 9am and didn't finish til 9am and a party after on both days really took it out. it feels good to be on the verandah in the midday sun knowing that everyone else is at work and i'm bludging at home on this beautiful monday.
after all that hard work it feels good to have it all over and take home 2 awards. this weekend we had autosalon and this may sound egotistical and it is, but we fucking killed it. it was a first time entry car and we took home 2 awards. "the plate says it all" and "the show stopper". YLD-FNG on a nissan pulsar vector '88 model with r32 rear lights, SR20 engine, perspex boot, split bonnet and fish tanks in the rear seats and 4DH8RZ on a candy pink 200SX. the pulsar won the awards but the 200sX but on a pretty good show too. the paint got everyones attention and probably had more photos taken than the pulsar.
our stand was rockin all weekend thanks to caroline and hanh. our 2 models. you see you get those professional models that are too good to talk to you and then you get the fun lovin' flirty types like what we had. they'd talk to everyone, take photos with you, dance around and do those dirty poses, strip and get with each other. the crowd had it's up and downs so we even stole bunnie from team ground zero and she modelled for us on sunday after being bored shitless on saturday. we even got the girls from jb hifi, autostyle, axs and rated r designs to take photos on our stand also. we had 2 random greek girls get with each other on sunday, caroline and hanh get with each other on saturday, india and russia do it on sunday and caroline, hanh AND bunnie do it on sunday. the crowd fucking loved us and that's why we won those awards. a bunch of lebos and me running around with megaphones yelling shit and having fun and we win awards for it. not bad.
i spent most of the days in the directors chair with the megaphone yelling out obscenities and chain smoking whilst mounzir ran around with his 12 inch soundstream sub cover around his neck and tarek calling over any and every girl just "for a chat". the position was great for it because we had 3 car spots and only 2 cars to fill it. we were right next to the cafe. entrance on our left and exit on our right so we got maximum exposure. i'm so fucking proud of this weekend because so much effort had been put into it and it really paid off. i don't care if you guys are gonna hate on me for this but i'm going to tell the world. it feels good to be apart of something. something that's taken 2 years to do and finally the end product. plus a week of headaches getting the models sorted out and 2 of them dropping out on us because they had a fight. but it was well worth it.we didn't care if we won awards or not because we had such a great weekend. but the awards topped it off. when adel was called out to collect his first award it took 3 seconds for it to sink in. he sort of just stood there and stared at the screen and finally it hit him. we also struck a deal with soundstream to sponsor the car, 6 girls from other stands to model for us permanently and have the kenwood stand play our cds all weekend.
all in all it was a fucking great weekend and well deserved. i'm fucking stoked to have the guys pick up 2 awards on their first time and enjoy themselves whilst doing it. i'm fucking stoked to see we picked up those sponsorships, recruited a few models and got the numbers of the girls at the nsx stand and mu's secret and i'm glad to see that mounzir put it over RBABY after he told adel to take his car home.
something to be proud of and a great weekend yet. we were THE show stoppers and we lived up to that award.
